Arsenal Sagna on the verge of leaving the club

Arsenal Sagna on the verge of leaving the club

Sky Sports states Arsenal right-back Bacary Sagna is looking to leave the club in summer as he has rejected to sign one-year extension to his deal and the club does not wish to offer an improved deal.

Sagna is expecting the club to increase his salary and offer him a long-term contract, but Arsenal are concerned with his fitness problems (he suffered two broken legs last season and damaged his knee several times this season) and are reluctant to meet his demands. Should Sagna not make a U-turn over Arsenal’s current contract offer, Arsene Wenger sells him in summer.

Wenger is said to have instructed his scouts to watch for a replacement to a stubborn player. Sagna has recently revealed he is prepared to leave the London side in summer, as he feels ‘disrespected’ by the club’s contract offer. The 29-year-old France international believes he should be rewarded for his loyalty to his club, given he has rejected moving Real Madrid and Man City.
