Arsenal target Clement Grenier

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger is seriously considering the possibility of signing Lyon midfielder Clement Grenier, tipped as “new Nasri”.

Grenier was on the brink of leaving his club in summer due to the lack of first-team football, however he capitalize on injuries of key players to cement his place in first XI next season. As a result the 22-year-old Frenchman, who came through the ranks of Lyon youth academy before signing his first senior contract with the club, has made 35 appearances this season, scoring 7 goals and setting up another 8. However Lyon are unlikely to settle for anything less than £8 million.

Arsene Wenger has confirmed he has been closely monitoring the development of the player, saying: ‘We are following him. His intelligence of play pleases me. He has interesting qualities. He reminds me of Nasri.’
