Arsenal team news: Sagna ruled out of Aston Villa clash

Arsenal defender Bacary Sagna is poised to be left out of the Gunners’ first eleven for Saturday’s game against Aston Villa.

The 30-year-old France international has limped off during Arsenal 3-1 defeat to Bayern Munich at the Emirates stadium. Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger revealed, the medical assessment revealed the knee injury. He said: “Sagna has a problem with his knee. He will be out for Saturday certainly. I don’t think there are any other knocks really.”

Sagna has always been susceptible to injuries, spending major part of the previous season on the sidelines after breaking his leg. Wenger is believed to be actively looking for a replacement to the defender.

Sagna has made 19 appearances this season.
