Aston Villa Bent hints at a move away from club

Aston Villa striker Darren Bent admitted he is looking to leave the club in summer in pursue of first-team football.

The 29-year-old Bent, who has been Premier League top goal scorer not long ago, fell out of favour with current Aston Villa manager Paul Lambert and became a marginal player for the club. He has made just 15 Premier League appearances this season.

The news about Bent’s discontent puts high-profile Premier league sides on alert. However Aston Villa are unlikely to let their star go for anything less than half of the hefty price they paid for him in past (which equals £24 million).

Bent said: “It is about playing and, at my age, I can’t have another season like this one. Time is running out. I’m not really one of these guys who wants to sit there, not do anything and get paid.”
