Aston Villa, Southampton eye switch for Milan Flamini

The host of Premier League clubs including Aston Villa and Southampton are set to battle for the signature of Milan midfielder Mathieu Flamini.

The current deal of the 29-year-old ex-Arsenal player is set to expire in summer, and the Rossoneri are unlikely to extend his deal due to his fitness problems.

Flamini’s career has been plagued by the injuries, limiting his playing time to a minimum. He has become a fringe player, making just 13 appearances for the Italian giants this season.

Taking into account that both Aston Villa and Southampton have expressed their interest in services of the player, he may be tempted with a prospect of making a switch to a Premier League. However any potential deal would depend on whether both clubs retain their top-flight status.
