Barcelona chase David Luiz

Daily Mail reports that Barcelona are seriously considering the possibility of bringing Chelsea defender David Luiz to Camp Nou.

The 25-year-old Brazil international has been frustratingly inconsistent at the Stamford Bridge this season, which has fuelled the rumours he may be offloaded by the Blues in summer. And given that Barca boss Tito Vilanova is looking to strengthen his back line, the move for a defender could come rather sooner than later.

Vilanova has been recently discussing the possible transfer targets with Barca’s sporting director Andoni Zubizarreta, technical secretary Albert Valentín and football co-ordinator Narcis Julià. It is believed Brazilian wonderkid Neymar has also been the subject of the discussion.

Should David Luiz move to Blaugrana, former Premier League players Alex Song and Cesc Fabregas are likely to help him to settle. However the Blues are not prepared to part ways with player for anything less than £21 million.
