Champions League qualification: Arsenal beat Fenerbahce 3-0

Arsenal have all but secured the Champions League campaign for the upcoming season after crushing the Turkish giants Fenerbahçe 3-0 at Şükrü Saracoğlu Stadium.

Kieran Gibbs opened the scoring in the 51st minute after Theo Walcott’s cross. Aaron Ramsey’s added a personal effort thirteen minutes later and Olivier Giroud scored from the spot to give Arsenal a comfortable advantage before the return leg next week.

The match was encarved with wild scenes as Pierre Webo cut the face of Laurent Koscielny that caused the French out of the pitch with his face bleeding. Moussa Sow stepped on Szczesny’s neck and Bruno Alves challenged Per Mertesacker with an elbow from behind. The Turkish players escaped without serious punishment.

Arsene Wenger praised his team’s attacking performance highlighting all the talks about a crisis in the squad is rubbish.
