Champions League results: Bayern Munich 2-0 Juventus

David Alaba and Thomas Mueller were the scorers for Bayern Munich as the Germans sealed a convincing victory over Juventus in the first leg of last eight round in the Champions League.

The Austrian international David Alaba helped the Munich-based side take the lead just 25 seconds into the game with a long-distance shot that was deflected off Arturo Vidal. The goal is one of the fastest in the tournament’s history and set the tone for a confident display from the Germans.

Franck Ribery and Arjen Robben could have doubled the score, but it was Mueller who recorded his 18th goal of the season with a simple tap-in after Mario Mandzukic pass. Mueller was close to netting the third one yet his attempt was denied by Buffon deep into stoppage time.

Throughout the game the guests rarely challenged Neuer, displaying listless performance with Buffon saving the team from bigger troubles.
