Chelsea to bid for Villa

Chelsea interim Rafa Benitez is chasing Barcelona experienced striker David Villa.

The Blues are seriously considering the possibility of signing the 31 year-old Spain international on a season-long loan deal with an option of buying him in future. David Villa has lost his first-team status following the arrival of Tito Vilanova. However Chelsea will surely face serious opposition from the side of Arsenal and Liverpool who are also said to be closely monitoring the situation with the player.

He has made just 12 appearances for his club this season scoring five goals.
