Chelsea set to sign Chilean starlet Cuevas

Chelsea confirmed that they are in the final stage of the talks to sign 17-year-old Cristian Cuevas from O’Higgins in the summer.

Cuevas is set to join the Blues after the U20 World Cup is over. He said: “Everything went quickly and was resolved within a week.”

The signing of the talented midfielder, complies with Chelsea’s policy of recruiting some of the world’s finest young talents, which saw Courtois, Hazard, Oscar and Mata signing for the Blues within 18 months.

Cuevas has been capped for Chile at U-20s level.
