Chelsea Torres snubs Anzhi

Chelsea Torres has rejected an offer from free-spending Russian side Anzhi Makhachkala, as he feels the move to Russia would be a step in the wrong direction.

Torres has joined the Blues for a record-breaking £50 million in January 2011, but he has not managed to return to his best in the blue shirt and is currently experiencing yet another goal drought. Torres scored his last Premier League goal in December during Chelsea 8-0 demolition of Aston Villa.

The 28-year-old Blues’ misfit is believed to be considering his options amid the fears new Chelsea manager will not tolerate his inability to score goals. However the Spaniard would prefer either Italy or Spain, despite the tempting big-money offer from Russian side, if he is to leave England.
