Clarke: Odemwingie has still a role to play at WBA
Daily Mail reports West Bromwich Albion boss Steve Clark is determined to reintegrate his wantaway forward Peter Odemwingie despite the anger of the fans demanding the player to leave.
The 31-year-old has not been included by Clarke in the first XI for the clash against Liverpool, which they surprisingly won 2-0, recording their first victory in the year 2013. However he has been spotted watching the game from the stands.
Clarke revealed the Nigeria international, who has been disciplined following his attempts of forcing through his move to QPR in the transfer deadline day, was taking part in the training session before the encounter at Anfield and he reckons the player soon returns into the first squad.
Clarke said Odemwingie might take part in the clash against Liverpool, but stressed there was nothing malicious in leaving him out of the first squad. He said: “It wasn’t an additional punishment and he was involved, that is why he was there. He was in the dressing room, he was delighted for his team-mates and was there to support them and help them. It is all part of what being part of a squad about. Peter makes his contribution and will make a contribution in the season going forward.”
