Diego Forlan proved he is still capable to cause troubles to any defense in the world, as the veteran forward scored a stunning goal to bring his side a 2-1 victory.

Diego Lugano got Uruguay with a flying start in the 19th minute with a close-range finish from Forlan’s delivery. John Obi Mikel restored the parity with a fine curling finish from outside of the penalty area in the 37th minute. The 34-year-old Forlan netted a match-winning goal in the 51st minute to break his international goal drought, which stretched to 12 games.

The victory means Uruguay are on the verge of progressing to the semi-finals as they face Tahiti in their final game, while Nigeria will play against mighty Spain.
