Corinthians deny Rel Madrid Kaka interest

Corinthians dismissed transfer rumours linking them with a move for out-of-favour Real Madrid playmaker Kaka.

The 31-year-old Brazilian struggled to establish himself as a first-team regular at Santiago Bernabeu since his move from AC Milan in 2009 and has been rumoured to be on the verge of returning to his home country this summer. Kaka fell out of favour with Real Madrid boss Jose Mourinho and made just 19 La Liga appearances this season, scoring 3 goals.

The recent speculation suggested Corinthians have been particularly interested in securing the services of former Sao Paolo player, but director Duilio Monteiro Alves ruled out the rumours. He said: “There is nothing, it’s just speculation. I don’t know where that story came from, but it didn’t start at Corinthians. He is an excellent player, no doubt about that, but we haven’t even talked about him.”
