Diego returns to Wolfsburg

Diego returns to Wolfsburg

After playing on a loan in Atletico Madrid for a season Brazilian midfielder Diego comes back to Wolfsburg.

Diego left the German club a year ago after the argument with head coach Felix Magath on his appearance in the starting 11 in the match against Hoffenheim. The player refused to start from the substitutes’ bench and left the team, few weeks later moving to Spain.

Felix Magath cooled down his anger a year later and on Friday welcomed Diego back at the special press conference.
The manager confessed that their relationships were tense, but he and the player had discussed and cleared all the problems. He added that the club wanted to move forward and Diego was a player of the highest level that would help the team, increasing the chances of finishing high in the table. The head coach claimed that Diego would play as central midfielder, creating chances for the team-mates and orchestrating the game.

The playmaker himself said it was important for him to learn from mistakes for doing things better in the future. Diego asked the Wolfsburg fans to forgive him and present him with second chance.
