Dortmund cruises past Shakhtar

Borussia Dortmund progressed to the quarterfinals of the Champions League with an impressive 3-0 victory over Shakhtar Donetsk at the Westfalenstadion.

The Germans successfully built on a draw in Ukraine they earned three weeks ago with Felipe Santana opening a score just after the half hour. Mario Gotze doubled the lead of the Bundesliga side while Jakub Blaszczykowski netted home the third goal just before the hour making sure Dortmund continue their European journey.

The impressive victory of the Ruhr giants with dominant performance throughout the match only proved that Borussia is one of the main Champions League title contenders this season.

The side’ s line-up practically lacks weak points with the attacking any European team can only dream of. Dortmund youth are speedy, talented and focused on scoring which makes them a concern for any club left in the tournament.
