Dortmund to hold onto Lewandowski’s services
Borussia Dortmund boss Jurgen Klopp has ruled out speculation linking their prolific striker Robert Lewandowski with a move away from the club.
The latest rumours suggested the 24-year-old Pole has already signed a pre-contract agreement to join Bayern Munich. Earlier this month it was announced that Borussia playmaker Mario Goetze will join the Bavarians in summer. Losing their top goal scorer along with the best playmaker would have hit hard on German giants.
It is to be recalled that Lewandowski netted all four of Borussia goals in Champions League semi-final first leg against Real Madrid to help his side to a 4-1 victory. The Spanish side failed to overturn three-goal deficit at Santiago Bernabeu and were eliminated from the tournament.
When asked if Lewandowski is on course of leaving the club in summer, Klopp answered: “There is no topic of Lewandowski’s transfer right now. The rest of the team and I talk and think only about the final right now. My conclusion is that Robert is not leaving Borussia, and he will play here for the next season and I will be able to use him. That is why I don’t want to even think about to which club he may fit better.”
