Edinson Cavani joins Paris Saint-Germain
One of the hottest commodities on football market this summer, the Uruguayan forward Edinson Cavani, has joined Paris Saint-Germain in a deal worth £55m.
Thus, he snubbed the interest from Premier League giants Manchester City and Chelsea to join an ambitious project in the French capital.
“I know many players in the team. El Pocho (Lavezzi), Pastore from Palermo, Diego Lugano from Uruguay,” he added.
“I am familiar with Ligue 1, I like it and I am looking forward to playing here.
“My message to the fans and the city is that I want to win and complete all of our objectives.
“I want to learn French. It goes beyond just needing it to play football. It will benefit me”
PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaifi was pleased to announce the signing:
“The transfer of Edinson Cavani is further proof of the club’s ability to attract the best players in the world.
“The player was seduced by the club’s sporting project and is delighted to be joining an ambitious side, impatient to take on new challenges.”
Edinson Cavani is the second top South American striker to join French Ligue 1 this summer after Colombian Radamel Falcao signed for newly promoted Monaco earlier on.

Personally, I think Paris and Monte Carlo are better places for living than Manchester or London :) And probably in a year or two those 2 money-bags-clubs will be a hard nut to crack for top English sides
