Europa League results: Benfica 3-1 Fenerbahce

Cardozo scored brace to earn his side 3-1 win over Fenerbahce in their Europa League semi-final second leg. The result means the Portuguese team progresses to the final of the competition after securing 3-2 aggregate win.

Gaitan got Benfica off to a flying start with a cool finish in off the post in the 9th minute. Fenerbahce scored the equalizer 15 minutes later by courtesy of Kuyt’s penalty. Cardozo put the hosts in front for the second time with shot from the edge of the area in the 35th minute. Cardozo rounded off Benfica’s victory with a close-range finish in the 66th minute.

Benfica will face Chelsea in their first European final since 1990.
