FA Cup quarter-finals' results: Manchester United held to a 2-2 draw by outstanding Chelsea

Chelsea delivered arguably their best performance of the season, as they managed to come back from two goals behind to hold Premier League leaders Manchester United to a 2-2 draw at Old Trafford, with De Gea denying Chelsea late win.

Manchester United seemed to underrate their opponents as they saw victory slipped through their hands despite moving two goals clear. Javier Hernandez got Man Utd off to flying start with an excellent close-range header in the 5th minute. Wayne Rooney, who has returned to the starting XI following his eyebrow-raising omission from Champions League defeat to Real Madrid, doubled the Red Devils’ with a free-kick six minutes later.

With Chelsea starting at defeat it was Rafa Benitez who has turned events around by introducing Eden Hazard for fans’ favourite Frank Lampard in the 53rd minute of the game. The Belgium international has made an impact almost immediately as he clawed one back with a brilliant curling shot from just outside of the area in the 60th minute. The Blues managed to restore the parity courtesy of excellent goal by Ramires in the 68th minute of the game. Chelsea could have claimed a famous win and knocked the Red Devils out, if De Gea had not thrown his boot to deny Mata. The result means there would be replay at the Stamford Bridge, with a winning side to face Manchester City in the semi-finals.
