Frank Lampard set to hold with Hodgson talks about his future
England midfielder Frank Lampard is looking to speak to Roy Hodgson about the perspective of playing for the national team, should he leave Premier League at the end of the season.
Despite Lampard’s impressive run of form for Chelsea, which saw him scoring the 200th goal for the club, the Blues are yet to offer him a much-anticipated contract extension.
With Lamps’ future being in the dark, the recent speculations have linked him with a move to a host of top European clubs, Major League Soccer and even Qatar. The midfielder himself revealed he remains fully focused on his game for the club, without giving much thought to the prospect of leaving the Stamford Bridge. However should he be forced to do this, he intends to hold talks with Hodgson. He said: “Yes (England will be a big part of his decision). Whilst I am available for England I want to do my best to try and put myself in the squad. If I am playing and in good enough form, I’d like to be included if we qualify for Brazil. That doesn’t rule anything out. I’ve seen players get picked before playing all over the world. If there’s ever a time, whenever it is, where there is an option of going outside Europe, I am sure Roy and I would have the conversation, whether it’s before or during.”
