Fulham Hangeland commits future to the club

Fulham skipper Brede Hangeland has extended his deal with the club, agreeing to stay at the Craven Cottage up to 2015.

The 31-year-old influential Norwegian has signed a two-year deal with an option of extending contract to a one more year.

Hangeland has joined the Cottagers for £2.5 million from FC Copenhagen in 2008, helping his club to avoid the agony of relegation in 2009-2010 Premier League campaign. He has made 236 appearances since the arrival.

The player revealed he is happy to have signed a new deal with the club. He said: “I’m delighted. It’s taken a long time but we’re there now. I hope the club is happy; I’m certainly really happy to have signed. I’ve loved my time at Fulham. It’s been a little over five years and I’ve felt right at home from the beginning. I couldn’t really see myself leaving so to know I’m here for a few more years gives me a great feeling.”
