Fulham target Dnipro’s Botateng

Fulham have revived their interest in Dnipro’s midfielder Derek Boateng.

The London side was on the brink of signing the player back in January, when they reached agreement both with the club and the player and won a work permit, but failed to finalize the move before the deadline due to player’s dispute with Dnipro. After the proposed move fell through Boateng tried to force through the move to Olympiakos, but the deal collapsed because the Ukrainian side blocked the switch.

Now the 29-year-old Ghana international is a free agent, as he has freed himself from contract obligations with Dnipro after winning the case at Court of Arbitration for Sport in Switzerland. Now as all the barriers have been removed and the work permit is still valid, Boateng has returned to Fulham radar and they are thought to be in the driving position to sign the player.

Fulham boss Martin Jol is a long-term admirer of the player and he is keen on landing him in summer.
