Ibrahimovic urges Rooney to join PSG

Paris Saint Germain forward Zlatan Ibrahimovic said he would welcome the arrival of Wayne Rooney, should he decide to leave Manchester United.

The Red Devils are set to hold onto their star and are looking to offer him a new contract in the near future, however the player himself is believed to be unsettled with recent speculations and could be tempted by a lucrative contract offer. PSG chief Nasser Al-Khelaifi has ruled out the suggestions French side is interested in landing the player.

And yet, the Swede states PSG would be an evident option if the player prefers part ways with the English side. He said: “If he wants to be part of the best project in football then there is only one club to sign for. Only he knows the decision he is going to make in the summer but the project we are trying to build here is clear.

“We are not content with being the dominant force in France, we want to be the top club in Europe as well. I can understand why the owners are interested in Rooney - he is in the top 10 of strikers in Europe,” Ibrahimovic added.
