Jackson Martínez: ‘I am going to make my own piece of history’

Jackson Martínez has faced comparisons to former Porto star Radamel Falcao. The Club Atlético de Madrid Falcao’s No9 shirt was taken over by Martínez. He was nichnamed ‘new Falcao’ though Martínez said that he doesn’t feel any pressure.

‘I don’t feel any pressure to match him or surpass his achievements; I am going to make my own piece of history,’ – said the Colombia international.

FC Porto have signed Colombian 25-year old striker Jackson Martinez, who made his debut for FC Porto with 90-minute header against A. Académica de Coimbra, winning their fourth consecutive Portuguese Supercup.

The Porto coach Vítor Pereira said: ‘This will be a very competitive year, and I am certain Porto will be up to the task.’

Dragões are aimed at the 27th Portuguese title and will withstand competition with their main contenders SL Benfica, Braga and Sporting Clube de Portugal.
