La Liga results: Zaragoza plays in a draw against Real Madrid

The Capital side was held to a 1-1 draw by Real Zaragoza despite Ronaldo striking his 44th goal of the season.

Zaragoza opened the score in the match courtesy of Sheffield Wednesday loanee Rodri in the sixth minute as Jose Mourinho decided to leave several first team players on the bench keeping an eye on the Champions League fixture against Galatasaray on Wednesday.

Rodri was close to doubling the score shooting just over Lopez’s top corner from distance. Zaragoza also impressed in defense limiting Madrid to shots from distance, yet the defenders could not close Ronaldo who fired home ten minutes before the break his 28th goal in the league. In the second half Zaragoza managed to preserve the score despite Mesut Ozil, Angel Di Maria and Sami Khedira all coming from the bench.
