Latest transfer rumours: Maarten Stekelenburg wants Roma exit

The keeper is dissatisfied with the lack of playing time

Stekelenburg started in Roma with a couple of superb performances that secured him a place in the pecking order. Yet recently the keeper was not a part of the line-up for a couple of matches and the decision of the head coach created speculations that the 30–year-old is on his way out of the team.

The last game of the player was the fixture against Atalanta on 11 December. Stekelenburg claims the decision to leave him on the bench was “totally pointless” by the head coach. The player revealed he has not discussed the situation with Zeman, stating: “We never spoke (with Zeman) about it and there is nothing I can do to change this situation.”

The goalkeeper is reportedly on the radar of several English and Italian teams.
