Lewandowski still looking forward to leaving Dortmund

Borussia Dortmund striker Robert Lewandowski revealed he is still looking forward to leaving Westfalenstadion, notwithstanding the announcement of chief executive Hans-Joachim Watzke, who claimed the Pole remains at Dortmund for at least one more season.

The 24-year-old Poland international has been strongly linked with a move to arch rivals Bayern Munich, where he could reunite with his former teammate Mario Goetze.

Lewandowski scored astonishing four goals in his side’s marvelous 4-0 win over Real Madrid in Champions League semi-final at Westfalenstadion, sparking speculation about his switch to a bigger club. Dortmund chief executive Watzke insisted the player will remain at the club, despite the player’s desire to join his “dream club”, expressed last week.

However Lewandowski is unlikely to be led by the nose by Watzke. He said: “I do not think that this is the final decision of the board of directors and I expect the situation to change shortly. I am enjoying my holiday for now, but I hope things move forward pretty soon and the situation changes. I do not get upset about anything.”
