Lille Chedjou open to Premier League move

Lille Chedjou open to Premier League move

Lille defender Aurelien Chedjou is flattered to be linked with a move to a host of Premier League clubs and revealed he would be happy to join Newcastle.

Recent speculations suggest the player is on Alan Pardew’s wish list and could make a switch to St James’ Park in summer. Pardew is keen on improving his defensive options and is digging deep in French transfer market to find some hidden gems.

The Magpies’ boss considers the 27-year-old Cameroonian to be a perfect replacement to Fabricio Coloccini, who could leave Newcastle in summer. Chedjou said: “I am delighted when teams are being linked with me because it means that I am doing well. My agent (Gregory) Gelebert is working with the clubs interested in me, but I am relaxed about the situation.

“Newcastle have shopped in France before and with the likes of (Yohan) Cabaye and former Lille right-back (Mathieu) Debuchy there already, so I will be in a good environment. But there is nothing official with Newcastle just yet. It’s all paper talk,” he added.
