Liverpool eye switch for Melbourne Victory’s Rojas
Liverpool have been put on alert with the news their target Marco Rojas is keen on moving to Europe.
The 21-year-old New Zealand international who has won the A-League’s Player of the Year award, gave proper respect to the A-League’s Player of the Year for helping him develop as a player, but confirmed he would like to move to a bigger club if he is to further his career.
Several European clubs have expressed the interested in signing the player, and offer from Liverpool would certainly tempt the player. Rojas said: “It’s every footballer’s dream to play in Europe and I’m over-the-moon to be able to say I’m about to live that dream very soon.”
Melbourne boss Ange Postecoglou revealed he is disappointed with the prospect of losing high-caliber player, however said he is determined Rojas develops into really quality player the near future. He said: “While we would have loved to have seen him stay here at Melbourne Victory for a little longer, we knew we couldn’t stand in the way of his European ambitions. He’s rightly attracted plenty of attention around the globe for his efforts this year.”
