Liverpool misfit Oussama Assaidi heads back to Netherlands

Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers is looking to part ways with misfit Oussama Assaidi, in the wake of interest from PSV Eindhoven.

The 24-year-old Moroccan winger joined Liverpool ranks in 2012 for £2.4million from Heerenveen. He failed to establish himself as an important first-team player at Anfield in his debut Premier League campaign, with all his outings coming in the Cups.

PSV Eindhoven are said to be keen on Assaidi and would like to sign him on a season-long deal with an option of a permanent transfer. Assaidi is aware that following the arrival of Luis Alberto and Iago Aspas his number of first-team appearances will be limited even further. That is why the Moroccan winger will likely agree to move back to the Eredivisie.
