Liverpool Reina happy to stay at the club

Liverpool goalkeeper Pepe Reina denied the reports he is on course of leaving Anfield for his childhood club Barcelona and admitted he is expecting to sign a new contract with the Reds in the near future.

The recent speculation linked the 30-year-old Spaniard, an apprentice of Barcelona youth academy, with a move back to Spain, should Barca number one Victor Valdes leave the club. However Reina revealed he is enjoying his life at Liverpool and ruled out the talks with a return to Camp Nou.

Reina said: “I have my own contract with Liverpool for three more years. Nothing has changed. If so, we want to make it bigger and my future is with Liverpool. Right now, about Barca, there are only rumours and only people talking about possibilities. There are no facts. I cannot talk further on that.”
