Luis Suárez has signed a new deal with Liverpool
The Uruguayan 25-year-old signed a long-term contract on his returning to training after the Olympics and ended Juventus speculations.
Brendan Rodgers said that there were several clubs interested in Suárez and Rogers was delighted that the Uruguayan had signed the contract. ‘When you have the opportunity to work with world-class players it’s fantastic. I think he’s one of the best strikers in world football’, he said.
‘Every year Liverpool have been looking at the Champions League and we will be hoping for the best position’, said Suarez. ‘The new contract is unbelievable for me. I am so happy here with the club and in the city’.
Suárez moved to Liverpool from Ajax in January 2011 and scored 21 goals in 52 appearances for Liverpool.
