Lyon Gomis ruled out transfer rumours

Lyon forward Bafetimbi Gomis has ruled out transfer rumours suggesting he could be leaving his club in summer.

The 27-year-old France international has been constantly linked with moves away from Lyon in summer, as cash-strapped club is looking to cash in on its talented players to balance the books. However Gomis, who netted 16 goals in 37 Ligue 1 appearances, insists he is enjoying playing at the club and would like to stay at the Stade de Gerland, despite interest expressed by newly promoted Cardiff City, Chelsea and Liverpool.

Gomis said: “After sometimes being substitute in Lyon, it has hardened me, and I am happy. If one day it is time for me to go to a big club in Europe, then I will already have shown how strong I am.”
