Man City and Chelsea target Bayern Gomez

Chelsea and Manchester City are seriously considering the possibility of bringing out-of-favour Bayern Munich striker Mario Gomez to Premier League.

Bayern Munich boss Jupp Heynckes prefers playing in-form Mario Mandzukic up front, while Gomez usually comes off the bench. The 27-year-old German international is far from happy with the latest developments and could decide moving clubs in search of the first-team football. Gomez’s agent Uli Ferber said: ‘Mario is not happy about his situation.’

Bayern Munich in turn are looking to balance their books and get rid of player who does not comply with Guardiola’s style of football. However Chelsea and Manchester City are likely to try and make a switch for the Gomez only if they miss out on their prime target Edinson Cavani.

Gomez has scored 10 goals in 24 appearances in all competitions this season.
