Man Utd to bid for Porto Rodriguez

Manchester United are seriously considering the possibility of signing Porto winger James Rodriguez.

Despite Rodriguez’s minimum release clause rocketing from £24 million to £36 million, the Red Devils are determined to try and battle for the signature of the highly-rated 21-year-old Colombian, who has scored 7 and set up 8 goals in 16 Primeira Liga appearances.

Man Utd are unlikely to overpay for the player, but may be willing to use either Nani or Anderson as a makeweight in the deal for Rodriguez. Anderson has recently admitted he is on the verge of leaving Manchester United and Estadio do Dragao could be his most likely destination. He said: “Porto are the one club I would consider moving back to Portugal for. My past is there. It is where I put down my roots in Portuguese football.”
