Man Utd target Atletico Madrid's Falcao

According to the latest football news, Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson has turned his attention to Atletico Madrid’s prolific striker Radamel Falcao in a bid to strengthen their attacking options.

Despite recent speculations linking the player with a move to Chelsea, Premier League leaders Man Utd appear to be firm favorites to sign one of the most wanted strikers in the world. The sources from inside both United and Atletico suggest the Red Devils have reached a pre-contract agreement by paying certain part of his hefty transfer fee in advance. They implemented the same tactics while trying to win the battle for the signature of in-demand Atletico Madrid’s goalkeeper De Gea.

Although Ferguson is unlikely to match Falcao’s €60 million release clause, he may be willing to pay in the region of £43 million for the player. The Colombian has scored 64 goals in 83 appearances since joining Atletico from Porto in 2011, helping his side to claim Europa League title last season.
