Man Utd team news: Evans and Jones to miss Real Madrid clash

Daily Mail reports Man Utd boss Sir Alex Ferguson faces selection headache ahead of the Champions’ League last-16 first leg clash against Real Madrid on Wednesday due to the injuries picked up by Phil Jones and Jonny Evans.
The defensive duo limped off in Red Devils’ 2-0 win over Everton at Old Trafford on Sunday. Jones suffered a calf injury tackling Kevin Mirallas. Evans has damaged a shin and could be out for up to a week. The news came as a disappointment for Fergie who has recently expressed his concern with a Premier League schedule which required Man Utd playing the game against Everton just three days before the crucial Champions’ League encounter against Real Madrid.
“There’s no fairness at all. It’s ridiculous to think that we play on Sunday and Real Madrid play on Saturday with that extra day’s rest. We’re not giving our teams a chance to be successful in Europe. Leagues in other countries make sacrifices for their teams,” – said Ferguson. “It’s nothing to do with the FA, it’s the Premier League. They agreed a contract with TV and they’re in control. It’s pointless complaining about these things all the time.”
