Man Utd team news: Rooney set to miss QPR clash

Man Utd forward Wayne Rooney will be out of the forthcoming clash against Queens Park Rangers due to suffering from sinus infection.

Roo has been absent from training since Saturday, but was expected to be back on Tuesday. However Red Devils’ boss Sir Alex Ferguson revealed he does not expect his forward to feature in the game against the bottom-dwellers QPR. He said: “It’s just a bad sinus infection. He got it on Saturday morning. I wouldn’t think he’s in contention for Saturday.”

Rooney has been in an excellent form this season scoring 11 goals and setting up another 10 in 23 Premier league games.
