Manchester stars flop, Tottenham and Chelsea share points and other Premier League results
The London derby between Tottenham Hotspur and Chelsea, or, specifically, Andre Villas-Boas and Jose Mourinho, was the headliner of the weekend Premier League matches. However, it was another David Moyes’ defeat that hit the news.
Manchester United were meant to bounce back after a disaster against City a week back and West Bromwich Albion seemed as a perfect target for revenge. However, United have changed little in their hapless performance, managed just 9 shots in the match and suffered a defeat at Old Trafford 1-2. Wayne Rooney was again the only man who had power to fight and scored from a free kick.
United neighbours City failed at Villa Park despite taking the lead in the second half and lost 3-2. Arsenal extended their winning run to 5 games at Swansea. Luis Suarez scored a brace on his Premier League debut against Sunderland from Daniel Sturridge’s assists.
The derby between Tottenham Hotspur and Chelsea was slightly shaded by unsporty conduct from Fernando Torres who made a nasty touch on Jan Vertonghen subject to scrutiny from the FA.
