McClaren denies exit rumours

Twente manager insists the team will improve after a string of poor results.

Twente manager Steve McClaren rejected the talk over possible departure from his position underlining that the club will change the fortunes for the better.

The Dutch side is going through a slump falling from top league position to the third place. The side have not yet won a single match in 2013 ending Saturday fixture against bottom team Willem II in a 1-1 draw.

The English manager remains positive about the club’s future, insisting: “I do believe in this team and the players,” McClaren stated. “This will definitely turn around, of that I have no doubt. At the moment the team are sitting in the middle of a storm. It happens in football.”

“If we keep working hard then the right results will come. We can’t give up and feel sorry for ourselves. We are good enough to get back up and I know that this group can do that,” insisted the tactician.

McClaren was appointed Twente boss for his second spell in January 2012.
