Montenegro Vucinic believes defense is England’s Achilles' heel

Juventus striker Mirko Vucinic said he considers England’s centre-backs to be lacking quality to play for national team.

Victory for Montenegro in Podgorica would put them in the driving seat to win Group H and leave England battling for the second place. Vucinic revealed there are certain areas in England side that Montenegro should try to exploit and identified defensive pair Lescott – Smalling as the weakest link, because they lack match practice. He said: “I certainly do see that as a source of weakness because, if they do not play for their own clubs, I don’t see why their national coach should pick them for the team.”

The experienced forward has also admitted he would prefer to play against established defenders Ferdinand and Terry, stating: “The match would be better and more interesting if they played because they are certainly among the best defenders in the world today.”
