Napoli wants to appoint Di Matteo as their new coach

According to 4-4-2.com, Napoli will make an approach for 42 year-old head coach Di Matteo to replace Mazzari.

Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich sacked Di Matteo the previous week. The Italian is seen as an ideal replacement for Walter Mazzarri who is expected to leave Napoli after his contract expires next summer.

Sunday People’s theory is that Di Matteo could fill Southampton’s head coach position in the case of Nigel Adkins’ dismissal. Di Matteo is reportedly close friend of The Saints’ director Nicola Cortese which may be the key factor in the appointment of Italian as new Southampton coach.
