Newcastle complete Debuchy signing

Newcastle have confirmed the signing of 27 year-old France right-back Mathieu Debuchy from Lille for an undisclosed transfer fee.

Debuchy has come through the ranks of the French club before establishing himself as the firm first-choice player. During his spell at Lille Debuchy has made more than 230 appearances, scoring 13 goals. Debuchy has made his international debut on November 11. Newcastle scouts have been keeping an eye on right-back following the string of impressive performances for the France national team during the Euro 2012.

Mathieu Debuchy has joined the Magpies on a five-and-a-half year deal and is expected to improve the team’s performance amid the long-term injury of right-back Danny Simpson.
