Newcastle desperate to extend Ba deal

According to Sky Sports Newcastle board continues contract talks with their 27 year-old striker Demba Ba.

The Senegalese turned down the latest Newcastle contract offer, insisting that he deserves higher salary.

Demba Ba has been the leading Newcastle goal scorer in the Premier League season 2010-2011, having scored 16 goals in 34 games.

Despite the speculation that Ba could leave The Magpies last summer, neither club was prepared to activate his £7.5m release clause.

The Senegalese has made 15 appearances this season scoring 8 goals.
