Newcastle Krul set to miss the rest of the season

Newcastle goalkeeper Tim Krul is sidelined until the end of the season, after suffering a dislocated shoulder during the Sunday’s defeat in Tyne and Wear derby.

Krul forced off in the 57th minute of Newcastle 3-0 defeat at the hands of Sunderland, after awkwardly punching away a free-kick. The 25-year-old Dutch goalkeeper has just returned into the first XI following a month-long spell on the sidelines due to ankle injury.

The injury comes as a major blow for the Magpies, struggling against the relegation. Newcastle boss Alan Pardew revealed: “Tim has dislocated his shoulder and is definitely out for the season.”
