Newcastle want van Wolsfinkel

A Bola states that Newcastle boss Alan Pardew instructed his scouts to watch Sporting forward Ricky van Wolfswinkel in action.

Pardew continues reshaping his squad following the disastrous run of form (the Magpies lost 8 of their last 13 matches and find themselves just two points above the relegation zone) and signing another striker is his priority.

Newcastle believe that signing the 23-year-old forward helps to fill the void upfront (it is to be recalled that Newcastle’s most prolific striker Demba Ba left the club for Chelsea).

Fiorentina and Napoli are also said to be interested in signing the €18-million-rated player.

Van Wolfswinkel has made 15 appearances scoring 5 goals for his club this season.
