Porto star Atsu rejected to extend his deal

Highly-rated Porto winger Christian Atsu admitted he is reluctant to extend his contract with the club and is expecting to leave Estádio do Dragão.

Liverpool and Tottenham have been monitoring the situation with the player for some time and his revelation means both Premier League clubs are likely to make an offer in the near future.

Atsu’s transfer fee of £3million is a bargain price for a player of his talent and Andre Villas-Boas is expected to pull the strings and lure the player from his former club to the White Hart Lane.

The 21-year-old Ghana international said: “I spoke with the FC Porto directors before joining up with the national team and informed them that I will not be signing a new contract. Hopefully we can find a solution as soon as possible.”

“My dream was always to play in England, and it is very nice to see my name associated with big clubs in the Premier League. For now, I’m focused on the international games but I see my future in England. I hope to have more news soon,” he added.
