Premier League fixtures preview: Chelsea vs Tottenham

Chelsea host cross-town rivals Tottenham knowing that a victory guarantees them Champions League qualification.

Juan Mata scored the match-winning goal in the dying stages of the game to sink Manchester United at Old Trafford on Sunday. The win allowed them moving three points clear of fifth-placed Tottenham. Another three points will put the Blues on the brink of guaranteed top-four finish.

Should the Spurs manage beat in-form Chelsea, the race for Champions League spots will remain open. However with Gareth Bale at their disposal, Tottenham could solve the tough task of securing a victory over the Blues for the first time in 20 meetings between two sides at Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea tem news:

Eden Hazard is available for selection after missing the game against Manchester United through calf injury.

Both Ryan Bertrand (knee) and John Obi Mikel (hip) are sidelined for the upcoming game due to injuries.

Oriol Romeu has returned to full training following his knee injury and could feature from the bench.

Tottenham team news:

Aaron Lennon and Mousa Dembele (both hamstring) remain major doubts after limping off in the game against Southampton with both players set to be assessed by the medical staff ahead of the game to determine whether they are fit enough to take part.

Sandro, Kaboul and Gallas remain on team’s long-term injury list.
