Premier League fixtures preview: Manchester City vs Wigan Athletic
Two sides which made it through to the FA Cup final on week-end set to face each other in the Premier League clash. Wigan will be hoping to beat the second-placed Citizens in order to boost their chances of avoiding the relegation.
Manchester City team news:
Roberto Mancini is expected to implement squad rotation policy if he is to keep his side fresh for the forthcoming crucial Premier League game against Tottenham on Thursday.
He will make several changes to the side which outplayed Chelsea 2-1 in FA Cup semi-final, by including Micah Richards, who has recovered after his long-term injury and Aleksandar Kolarov in the starting lineup.
Edin Dzeko and Javi Garcia will also feature in the game against Wigan, while Zabaleta, Kompany, Clichy, Barry and Tevez will be rested.
Wigan Athletic team news:
Roberto Martinez has no serious injuries to be concerned with and will field all his big guns in order to try and outplay weakened Man City side.
On-loan goalie Joel is set to be recalled in the starting line-up in place of Ali Al-Habsi, who, prior to Saturday’s FA Cup win over Millwall, has not been included in the starting line-up by Martinez since Latics’ 4-0 defeat to Liverpool.
